MANUFACTORY

digital print and animation, 2014

Manufactory shows strange and invented structures in a factory-like setting. Seemingly abandoned, what the structures are used for remains unclear, although there are references to a cycle of production in an industrial environment. The animation brings action to the space with a periodic drip of water or gust of wind, hovering between surveillance footage and old timey cartoons in its execution.

This work was exhibited at the Owens Art Gallery in Sackville, NB for the Bachelor of Fine Arts 2014 Graduating Exhibition, at the Saint John Arts Centre in Saint John, NB for the exhibition Working Title: Contemporary Artists Exploring the Industrial Landscape of the Maritimes, and nominated for the BMO 1st Art Competition 2014.
