ANYTHING BUT FUN

Solo exhibition at Galerie Sans Nom, July 7 - August 14 2026

The exhibition brings together Theriault’s ongoing collection of cut-out drawings that depict objects and spaces she has encountered as both an artist and an arts worker, drawn from her studio, artist residencies, exhibition spaces, storage areas, architectural fragments, and everyday objects. Installed directly on the gallery walls, these drawings create a layered environment that moves between documentation and fiction, becoming part of an ongoing exchange between the work and the artist-run spaces in which it is exhibited.

The exhibition's title is borrowed from "Rhetoric on the Run," a 1983 text by artist and writer Clive Robertson published in Parallelogramme, an artist-run centre magazine. Written at a different moment in the history of Canadian artist-run culture, the text reflects concerns that remain familiar today, even as the conditions surrounding artists and arts workers have changed significantly over the past four decades.
